Lead Pastor
Travis Hayman
Travis Hayman began serving as Lead Pastor of University Baptist Church in August 2018, with a heart to revitalize the local church. He and his family love Nacogdoches and how God is using UBC to reach the community. Prior to coming to UBC, Travis served as Worship Pastor for 20 years in churches in East and South Texas. Travis is an alumni of Liberty University. He loves to tell the story of God's work in bringing families to join this incredible work at UBC! He has 5 children and an amazing wife, Jodie, who love serving Jesus as a family!

Administrative Pastor
Dennis True
Dennis serves as our Administrative Pastor at University Baptist Church. He and his wife, Terri, are thankful to be part of God’s amazing ministry here and to be a part of a great ministry team.
Prior to entering ministry, Dennis spent 15 years in the U.S. Navy and then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University. Dennis has served as Children’s Minister, Students' Minister, and Church Administrator at previous churches.
Dennis has served UBC in many capacities in his time here at UBC, from Children’s Pastor to Senior’s Pastor, Administrator, and Facilities Director as well as many other functions. Dennis and Terri have a passion for serving the Lord in whatever capacity is needed. In whatever they do it’s done in service to the Lord. They want to be an example of Love in Action!

Worship Pastor
Sam Hernandez
Sam serves as the Worship Pastor at University Church. Sam and his wife, Megan, have been married since 2016 and have two sons, Matthew and Malachi. Before stepping into ministry, Sam earned a bachelor’s degree from University of North Texas in Music Education and was an orchestra teacher for 4 years in the DFW area.
Sam desires to be a catalyst for God’s people to worship their Creator and seeks to always present the Gospel through music.

Student & Young Adults Pastor
Noah Short
Noah is a student at Stephen F. Austin State University and will graduate in December of 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and a minor in Psychology. He has served in many different ministries throughout high school and college. He has served as a children’s ministry intern, a college ministry intern, as well as a youth interim pastor. He is now serving at University as our Student and Young Adults pastor.
Noah desires to create a familial atmosphere among students and young adults; a place where laughter can be mixed with the reading of Scripture. Like all the ministries at University, the end goal for those who are part of the ministry is to grow closer to Christ and to be able to share His truths with others.

University Coffee House & Missions Director
Ann Rodriguez
Ann is a Fuller Seminary student who has worked at the coffee shop since July 2020.
Recently, she has become manager and is passionate about the coffee shop becoming a resource to the community of Nacogdoches. She is excited to see University Coffee become a blessing to all that enter the doors by providing a welcoming environment where people are known and coffee is enjoyed.
Ann has been married to a wonderful man named Michael since January 2021. Michael bakes muffins for the coffee shop and is also a full time student. They have recently purchased a home here in Nacogdoches making them official Nacogdoches residents! You can email Ann here.
